San Galgano

The abbey of San Galgano, in the Tuscan hills south-west of Siena, has had no roof for more than two centuries. I found the Gothic arches still standing and the sun falling straight onto the floor of the nave.

I shot down the side aisle so the arches repeat into the distance. Black and white keeps it about the stone and the light.
