Wat Paknam

The Buddha at Wat Paknam is about 69 metres tall, and I could not get all of it in a frame without it becoming small. So I cut it: half the face, one shoulder and a lot of blue sky.

It was only finished a few years ago, and the gold still looks new. Up close it feels less like a statue than like a building with a face.
